Coastal holiday cottages in Bamburgh Village
One of the most visited and beautiful places on the Northumberland coast is the sandy dunes of Bamburgh beach. On one side stands the famous castle and on the other, the dramatic Farne Islands where over 23 different varieties of birds can be spotted. The islands are also home to the largest colony of grey or Atlantic seals with around 1,000 pups being born each autumn.
Bamburgh beach, voted one of the North East’s top surfing spots is a great place to sit and watch kite surfers, spend time with the family, walk the dog or go horse riding along the miles of shoreline. From here you can also admire the views of Holy Island, a wildlife of haven with it being home to a natural nature reserve. This small island is well worth a visit to spot numerous rare birds and sample a fresh crab sandwich, a Northumberland speciality.
