Description

Large traditional detached farmhouse situated on Holy Island. A holiday home with a difference - there is something etherial about being "stranded" on an island. The tide cuts the island off twice a day (see safe crossing times which vary with the tides), and when the tide recedes revealing the causeway, you can drive on and off the island and explore more of the County.

So when you are on the island you'll find quite a bit to do. The Priory, the small independent shops, the Lindisfarne Mead distillery, two pubs which both serve food, two cafes, a post office store, there are many walks around and across the island, and the area is a mecca for wildlife lovers, photographers and dark skies enthusiasts. Note the castle is currently closed for major renovations and is due to re-open April 2018, but stands proud at the end of the Castle Walk overlooking the sound between the island and the mainland at Ross Sands.

The house is traditionally stone built and it has been a working farm and residential house until the present owners purchased it at the end of 2016.

Reviews

We had a lovely time at St Coombs it had such a comfortable atmosphere that it was easy to relax, and the beds were so comfortable!

Ms G M,

What a fabulous place on a beauty island my granddaughter was enthralled. The beds were cosy and clean I slept better than at home!! Unfortunately someone decided they didn’t have to clean the BBQ after they used it but that’s people for you. I would highly recommend this place, if your not lovers of the cockerels call, or the sounds of chattering ducks and the odd rabbit and young hens wandering into the garden then not sure if you’d enjoy it lol . We however loved the lovely country sounds and the fact you’re stranded on the island twice a day. Fabulous!! Fabulous, beautiful and stunning. Fabulous, beautiful and stunning.
