This property is the best we have stopped in in this country everything and I mean everything has been thought of for a wonderful stay including the best welcome pack we have ever seen the host was very friendly and helpful. It was wonderful to return after a day out to the cosy feel of the cottage with beautiful fixtures and fittings
We have just returned from Monkey Puzzle Retreat in Belford. We have never been to a holiday let like it. It was more like a home than a holiday let. There was everything you could imagine in the kitchen and the welcome pack was amazing. Charlie the owner met us with the keys and told us the best places to go and eat. Everything was of a very high standard and the attention to detail fantastic. We can highly recommend this cottage. Perfect place to stay for a relaxed and chilled holiday. A real home from home
Excellent time had by both The property was better than we expected We visited seahorses The whole area was very good would come again but at a different time of year.
Monkey puzzle retreat was well located, beautifully appointed with a generous welcome pack. It was near enough to the coast, yet far enough from the busy tourist area, in the lovely village of Belford. Two great pubs, lovely hotel, paper shop, and co-op, and a fish and chip shop, all within easy walking distance. The John Dory fish and chips were the best we'd ever tasted.
The owner, Charlie, was extremely helpful and did everything he could to make our holiday great especially after I had an accident, thank you Charlie.
We had a lovely time at Monkey Puzzle Retreat. Charlie the owner was very relaxed and helpful, said he would be there whatever time we arrived. He provided a Welcome Pack of bread, milk, bacon, lovely fresh eggs, milk, butter, tea, coffee etc and a very high standard of cookware and tableware. It's a real home-from-home, with books, jigsaws, TV, radio, alarm clock, hairdryers, recliner chair - everything you could want. There's plenty of garden which our 2 very active dogs loved and we found footpaths to open country from a cut through the hedge at the bottom of the drive. Charlie lives in the next door house and recommended good places to visit and eat, so we really enjoyed our Northumbrian holiday.
