Budle Newtown is part of the Bamburgh First collection of 17 different houses and cottages under the same ownership and with a consistent quality of interior design and attention to detail throughout. The interiors are professionally designed to suit each individual dwelling and the owner has tried to think of everything that will enhance the stay of every guest.
Budle Newtown is a stunning self catering cottage set in an idyllic rural setting within farmland, overlooking the beautiful Budle Bay and just over one mile from Bamburgh.
Sleeping up to 8 guests, Budle Newtown has everything you could need. It offers a large open plan living area, with views of Budle Bay and over to Lindisfarne. There is a light and airy conservatory, perfect for watching the sky and sea change colour every 10 minutes. One visitor said it was like it’s like sitting in a painting as the artist does his work. The sitting room has a real fire with easy lighting logs and the front patio is a great place to barbecue. There is also a games area with a pool table and a private hot tub in the garden with views over the bay. It has 4 bedrooms and three travertine bathrooms.
Inside the cottage guests will find some nice personal touches which include a tin of goodies, a bottle of wine, a voucher for a pound of the famous Bamburgh Bangers, a box of games including Scrabble, Monopoly and Cluedo and the owner’s personal guide to the 21 best things to do whilst in the area. Netflix is also included as is a portable Bose Bluetooth speaker.
Budle Bay is part of the Lindisfarne National Nature Reserve, very popular with birdwatchers. Depending on the tide, it is possible to walk all the way around to the beautiful and vast sandy Bamburgh beach, with its magnificent castle standing tall over it. The cottage is next to one of the UK’s most scenic golf courses, which as a guest of Bamburgh first you can play for free any day if there isn’t a competition on. Free games of Tennis underneath the castle on the village green are also provided to guests of Bamburgh First along with membership and discounted access to a gym and leisure club is also provided. Bamburgh was recently a finalist in Channel 4’s UK’s Top Village competition and offers a great selection of pubs and restaurants.
The market town of Alnwick with its historic (Hogwarts) Castle, Alnwick Gardens and the famous Barter Books, is 25minutes away by car. The Holy Island of Lindisfarne is 25 minutes to the North, and the Cheviot Hills 20 minutes to the West. You can see both from the cottage. The fishing village of Seahouses with its boat trips to the Farnes is 15 minutes to the south.
It’s also easy to reach all the pretty fishing towns on the coastline, Beadnell, Craster (home of the Kipper), Newton by the Sea, Alnmouth and Amble. Hadrian’s wall is less than two hours to the South. Shop: 1.5 miles Pub: 1.5 miles.

The Bamburgh First collection was created by the owner, because they believed many second homes were filled with furniture and fittings owners didn’t want in their main house. The owner wanted to create accommodation as beautiful as the setting, and each house in the collection has been decorated by a professional interior designer.
The cottage was amazing, the views were out of this world. The cottage had everything in it you could possibly need. Definitely returning soon.
