Dawn Chorus Walk – at Heatherslaw Visitor Centre, Heatherslaw, Cornhill-on-Tweed
If you really like nature or are into bird watching, then this is a great activity to take part in. You will need to get up early though! Everyone is to meet at Tindal House Farm at 5am for a guided walk to learn about the local birds. The walk is open to North Northumberland Bird Club members, but if you aren’t a member don’t worry, you can still come along for a small donation. Afterwards there will be a breakfast. Remember to wear suitable footwear.
Countryside Festival - Kirkley Hall Zoo, Ponteland, NE200AQ
Date: Sunday May 12 Time: 10am - 4pm
For just £5 per person, and under 12’s free, you can enjoy a great day out at the Countryside festival. There will be a range of stalls selling local crafts, food and drink, as well as activities for the kids. You will be able to enjoy the show arena, which will display countryside events throughout the day, such as a dog show. You can also find tree climbing, a health and wellbeing area, zip line, pigeon shooting and more.
Living North LIVE North East - Newcastle Racecourse, High Gosforth park, Newcastle Upon Tyne
If you love your shopping, this is a great one to mark in your diary! Between 10th-12th May 2019 you can celebrate the North East's best designers and retailers, ranging from homes and gardens, food and clothing. There will also be a Chef Demo area where you can see some well known chefs cook up some delicious offerings. This is a great day out with everything you could imagine all under one roof.
Celebrate Northumberland Day 2019 - Langley-on-Tyne, Northumberland
Northumberland Day is sponsored and championed by Langley Castle Hotel and Restaurant, in Langley-on- Tyne. It aims to celebrate everything Northumbrian, including culture, arts and crafts, food and drink, sports and community life. It will take place on Sunday May 26th 2019, the day before the Northumberland County Show. You will be able to take the whole family to activities, events and celebrations.
If you plan on taking part, then why not look the part too? You are all encouraged to dress your hair, face, car, bike and clothing on the day in yellow and red, the Northumberland colours!
