It is fair to say that Valentine’s Day offers the cinemas one of their most busy nights of the year. With that in mind, Tyneside Cinema in Newcastle has left its screening schedule open to the public vote. They ask cinema goers to select what film they think is the most romantic of all time and then promise to screen the winning film on the annual night of love.
Previous years have seen a diverse range of winners including Amelie, Once, Before Sunrise, Casablanca and The Notebook.
The North East’s favourite romantic film to be shown this year is When Harry Met Sally.
- Anti-Valentine Show
The Stand Comedy Club

Are you single and trying to avoid all the hearts, flowers and cuddly toys? Go and have a laugh on High Bridge Street instead. The show features Will Hal Branson and Lee Kyle.
