Berwick-Upon-Tweed

  • Berwick United Reform Church

Spittal Christmas Fair and Parade – 12th December

This is an outdoor event in Berwick-upon-Tweed at Berwick United Reformed Church. The Christmas Fait takes place from 11am to 3pm and has stalls, raffles, tombola, refreshments and a Christmas parade including Santa and his reindeers.

This is a festive event for all the family. Following this, the lighting of the big Christmas tree will occur accompanied by traditional carol singers.

Morpeth

  • Middleton Village Hall

He Wore a Red Hat – 18th December

He Wore a Red Hat is a brand new festive themed comedy coming to Middleton Village Hall. Full of twists, turns and sleuthful surprises, the show is suitable for families aged 12 – 112. This is a great piece of entertainment in the run up to Christmas.

Adult tickets are £7 and children’s tickets are £4.

Newcastle-upon-Tyne

  • Kirkley Hall

Santa’s Christmas Lunch – 13th December, 12pm to 2pm

Pull your crackers, don your party hat and enjoy a delicious four course Christmas lunch with friends and family. See the children’s faces light up when Santa comes to visit bringing gifts for them all.

Booking in advance is essential and tickets are priced at £18.95 for adults and £9.50 for under 10s.

Alnwick

SPARKLE – 28th November to 24th December, 26th December to 31stDecember

Alnwick Gardens is shining bright this winter with the installation of its stunning SPARKLE lighting. Take a wander around the Alnwick Garden as it features a full spectrum of hues, brightness and star clusters amid the treetops. Water jets leap about and the windows of the Pergolas are also framed with light. If it is too cold outside, watch the garden light display from inside the pavilion café with a mug of hot chocolate or a glass of wine.

The SPARKLE lighting installation is active between 3pm and dusk everyday throughout winter. Normal garden admission charges of £7.70 per adult apply. Children and concessions can enter at a cheaper rate.

  • Alnwick Garden

A Christmas Tale – 18th to 23rd December

An enchanting family experience about The Winter Sorcerer. When the autumn spirit falls asleep, an enchanted forest grows. In the darkness, magic, enthralling and spellbinding sights await.

Tour The Garden after dark and encounter illuminations, projections, performances and music that bring the sleeping forest to life.

A Christmas tale is a memorable experience suitable for all the family to enjoy. Sessions start at 4:15pm and the full trail will last approximately 1 hour.

Tickets need to be booked in advance and are £12 per adult and £7 per child aged 5-16 years.

  • Alnwick Garden

New Year’s Eve Family Fun – 31st December

After all the Christmas events are over, why not celebrate New Year in style with some family fun. Round off your seasonal celebrations in one big family extravaganza with party games, street entertainment, music and much more.  There will also be a resident DJ to entertain you all into the night and keep the party sprit going.

Tickets are £27.50 per adult, children aged 5 – 14 are £17.50 and 5 years and under are £12.50.
