Here are some more places you might want to put on your holiday list this summer when you are in the Northumberland area. Come rain or shine, there’s plenty to do in this region with kids of all ages:
Prudhoe Waterworld - Prudhoe, Northumberland
If the little ones love swimming, then the 25m six lane main pool is a great place to head at Prudhoe Waterworld. You can learn to swim, go on the slide, splash pool, paddle on the beach, and even play on the inflatables.
You’ll also find Space Jacks Adventure Soft play here, which is a great place for kids to burn off some energy.

Bailiffgate Museum - Alnwick, Northumberland
Bailiffgate Museum is another fun day out for all the family. Here you can find out about the history of Alnwick. You can visit a Victorian schoolroom, a nineteenth century printer's workshop, a miner's kitchen and artefacts from a ten thousand year old house. Kids can dress up in a variety of different outfits. Cragside House, Gardens and Estate - Morpeth, Northumberland
Did you know that this was first house in the whole world to be lit by hydroelectricity? Cragside House is full of Lord Armstrong's inventions and is the perfect place for mini geniuses to explore, as well as the adults!
This attraction has good facilities for babies and young children so you can enjoy your day out without worry. This included toilets and a café, as well as baby slings in reception so you can carry smaller babies around with you.
Outside in the gardens you can spot birds and wildlife including green woodpeckers, red squirrels and toads.

Hadrians Wall and Fort - Hexham, Northumberland
This is an iconic landmark and if you’re in the area, one that you can’t miss! You will be in awe of the stunning views! Did you know that this place is what gave George RR Martin the idea for his Game Of Thrones series?
You can discover the history behind the archaeological remains; follow the stone walls around the village and you will be able to see how your ancestors lived.

The Bike Place in Kielder - Kielder, Northumberland
If you love being on your bike, this county is a great place to enjoy it on. The Bike Place in Kielder is perfect to visit if you want to go biking through the wilderness on your next visit here. There are a variety of bikes, in different sizes for hire. This includes mountain bikes, child seats, buggies and bicycle trailers. There is a trail to suit everyone, so if you’re less than confident, don’t worry.
