County Shows Families Can Visit in the North East this Summer

Shows take place in Northumberland, County Durham, Cumbria and North Yorkshire this summer to celebrate farming and the countryside. These shows will provide families across the North-East with a fantastic family day out. Events at the County Shows will include top-class agricultural competitions and popular attractions including demonstrations, races, food and drink and shopping.
The Northumberland County Show at Bywell is the regions premier agricultural show and over 26,000 people visited the 2016 event in May. Following the success of the Northumberland County Show, other County Shows have become more and more popular. If you and your family want to experience one or more of these events, here are some of the county shows you can visit this summer. These shows can provide a great option for a day out while holidaying in the region to gain an insight in the local area and their way of life. Sedgefield Show

The Sedgefield Show is a celebration of Agriculture and Country life including a range of all competitive classes, local produce, handicrafts, artistic items, trade stands, food hall and fun-fair rides.

Falstone Show
Falstone, Northumberland, NE48 1AA
This show boasts a variety of livestock and poultry classes plus many other highlights. These highlights include; a sheep dog trial, pony sports, children and adult sports, a beer tent and live music.

Wensleydale Show
Leyburn Showground, North Yorkshire, DL8 5JG
This year the Wensleydale Show sees its 101st show. There are record entries in the Hunter Classes and the Sheep section plus amazing displays from The Kangaroo Kid – the world class quad bike stuntman.

Glendale Show
The Showfield, North Middleton, Northumberland, NE71 6QX
The Glendale Show celebrates all aspects of farming and rural life with classes for sheep, cattle, goats, donkeys and horses. There are also unique Alpaca and Clydesdale shows to entertain the crowds.

The Bowes Show boasts one of the largest horse entries in the north shown over 8 arenas. Other attractions include a Horticultural and Industrial marquee, dog shows, Punch and Judy, a craft and wool marquee, cattle sheep and much more.

Stanhope Show

The 175th Stanhope Show will be the annual opportunity to showcase agriculture, local industries and activities to the public. It’s a day of entertainment, information, fun, competitions, traditional values and memory-making.

Stokesley Show

The Stokesley show features the best of local produce, local farmers and local agriculture and is the North’s largest one-day agricultural show.
