Craster claim to fame is that it is the home of the Kipper, a smoked fish delicacy which to this day is prepared traditionally in the village and exported all over the country. It also home to Dunstanburgh Castle where you can walk along the coast and admire the beautiful scenery along the coast and the views out to sea.
The village is seven miles north east of Alnwick and has many places for food lovers to visit. Yet it has something for everyone if you want to use it as a base for coastal walks and fishing trips from the harbour. There’s also an 18 hole golf course if you fancy that. Although there is no beach at Craster, the rocky coastline is still a popular base for walkers with great views to admire along the way of the rugged scenery all the way to the castle.
