Reviews

Great location. great for walking dogs and site seeing value for money would recommend and definitely use again

Mr E,

Really enjoyable family Christmas spent at Spindlestone House. Very spacious and comfortable accommodation. Children loved Games Room and Hot Tub was enjoyed by everyone.

Mr S,

We took our dad here for his 80th birthday and it was great, plenty of space lovely rooms very impressed we would definitely come again

Miss O,

Went to Spindlestone with a group of friends, we were pleasantly surprised. The house is really impressive and even better was the separate games room. Obviously the house is very old and some of the decor is dated, however it didn’t bother us and we really enjoyed our stay. The house warmed up really quickly, it was obvious the heating system had been updated to accommodate the old building this was good as the upstairs felt a bit damp at times. The beds were super comfy and we slept really well, it was so quiet! The hot tub was great and clean, unfortunately the British weather took over and it poured down with rain the whole weekend, whilst it didn’t bother us maybe a pergola would be a good addition over the top of it. We were given a lovely welcome pack which was a nice touch and the kitchen was so well equipped. Only negative would be the check in and out times as this was completely non flexible- 10am was quite early when we couldn’t get in until 4pm so we felt like we were rushing a lot would be nice to have the option if there aren’t other guests checking in/ out that day. Aside from that original cottages have been great and the updates have been regular and helpful. Would definitely use again and recommend Spindlestone house!

Miss M,

Very happy with the property, it’s location and the facilities.

Mr T,

House was good and large rooms although quite dated. Beds all comfortable and hot tub well maintained. Didn’t get welcome pack initially and had to chase. New build next door didn’t have a major impact. Could do with plastic glasses for hot tub and oven glove in kitchen. Loads of utensils, plates glasses, cutlery etc.

Mr S,

The equipment in the house was good but not very clean ie microwave was disgusting, some of the pots pans and cutlery hadn’t been washed properly and just put in cupboards and drawers very untidily. The shower curtain in the main bathroom was past it’s best (mouldy and dirty) under stairs cupboard was a danger zone with everything just flung inside ( ironing board iron cushions high chair)

Mrs Susan A,

Location was quiet. Ideal for families who like walking. Two rooms were dark but that went with the character of the house. Flies around the hot tub were annoying. Could have done with a cloths airier/line as not all clothes can tumble dry. Otherwise a lovely family house for all ages.

Mrs C,

Highly enjoyable stay, great property, would definitely come back, only downside was the lack of tea towels and oven gloves

Mr Garry B,

The property suited us very well. A family of 10 from 15 months to 79 years. The games room was a great space for the young teenagers and hot tub for the older generation. The location offered excellant access to the attracctions of the coast. It was quiet and offer both sunny and shady spots both of which were much appreciated.

Mr M,

The cottage was set in a perfectly tranquil location, with an abundance of local wildlife, conveniently close to the infamously beautiful Bamburgh castle and beach. It was the perfect place to get away from it all and unwind spending time with a group of friends. The house gave us plenty of space to hang out and play games, and we particularly enjoyed the added bonus of a generously sized hot tub and games room. The decor exuded a luxury stately feel - the perfect backdrop to a murder mystery - and was clean and spacious throughout.

miss M,

We asked for a cot to be there which unfortunately wasn’t left, but the lady on call was very helpful and sorted this for us. We only had 2 tea towels, could do with a few more and lastly, a pair of scissors would be useful in the kitchen! Overall we were very happy with our stay and the house itself was beautiful
