Reviews

We were a party of 2 couples and 3 dogs, and we found The Cottage perfect for our needs. The garden, although the grass was very long, was lovely for the dogs to play in. The cottage itself was warm and cosy, and spacious enough for us all. Ideal location for a walk to the beach. We walked to a couple of the restaurants in the evening and the food was lovely. This was our first visit to Northumberland. We will be back next year and wouldn’t hesitate to stay at The Cottage again.

Mrs C,

The cottage was perfect for our visit of adults and dogs. The cottage is beautiful, and the layout was perfect for 2 separate families. The dogs enjoyed the garden, alot !

Mr T,

Excellent location. Handy for the beach for the dogs to run on. Close to bus stops and also to drive to Bamburgh, Alnwick and Berwick. Back garden fantastic for dogs.

Mr B,

A fantastic cottage in an amazing location. The cottage was perfect for our family break with our dogs and the garden was so peaceful and relaxing. We have already booked again for next year. The garden is not completely secure for dogs as there is a low wall in one part of the garden and there is a gap behind the shed where a dog could get through and onto the road. We always travel with a crate and a dog pen/fence so we were able to use these to cover the gaps. Also it would have been nice to have a useable bbq at the property, we ended up buying one to use during our stay. Also there was no information folder/booklet at the property so we struggled with accessing the WiFi and finding basic local information.

Ms K,

A lovely, cosy cottage close to the beach. Great secure garden for our dogs.

Mrs G,

Lovely cottage! Beadnell is a fantastic village, 10 mins walk to the beach, a couple of minutes to the 2 local pubs and 5 minutes to the local shop. The cottage itself is beautifully appointed, the garden is huge and completely secure which was brilliant for our 3 dogs! The kitchen and sitting room are bigger than they appear on photos, the bedrooms all comfortable. We noticed there wasn’t a welcome pack or folder which was unusual compared to other properties we have been to. There was leaflets about bin collections but they were out of date. Also a lack of hoover bags and the bag that was already on the hoover was full and not been emptied for some time but we managed to make do but it’s something to perhaps consider taking with you for future residents. Parking is available for 2 cars which was perfect for us. Seahouses is only a few minutes drive up the road and has a large Co-Op store and more bars/restaurants and the cottage is perfectly situated for the castles and other towns like Alnwick. All in all a very enjoyable stay

Miss Clare S,

Wonderful large property with beautiful enclosed garden

Mrs P,

Very disappointed that check in was so late at the cottage due to “cleaning & safety reasons” when the standard of cleaning was very poor. The amount of cobwebs and dust was quite unbelievable and the floors in both bathrooms were not the cleanest, maybe our standards were too high but for the cost we would have expected it to be perfect. The sofa has definitely had better days and was very uncomfortable, we did notice it is not the sofa from the photos of the cottage? The arms of both sofas have NO filling in them! On a good note the garden was fabulous for the dogs especially once the grass had been cut halfway through our visit.

Mrs Karan B,

The cottage was just as described. It was clean and worked perfectly for our family holiday.

Mrs Vicki W,

We were very pleased with the property, the garden was ideal for our Grandsons to play football in and bedroom arrangements were ideal for multi generational sharing.

Mrs Kathleen S,

This was a really special visit for us. The Cottage was practically perfect. There were just one or two things that were a little disappointing, given the weather. The heating system is not adequate at all to heat the main rooms in the cottage. Without the fire, we would have had to leave earlier as my mother needs warm rooms. They do not have to be hot, but the radiators are useless for the size of the large rooms. The information file was missing, so we hoped that we did everything right. Another slight complaint was that the gatepost had been freshly painted and no notice hung there so that some of us got white paint on our clothes. On my daughter's jacket we cannot remove it. Paint would not dry in those freezing temperatures, so a notice would have been helpful. The owners of the property have done their best to make the house feel 'lived in'. It was not like going into impersonal surroundings. There were homely touches everywhere. The beds were very comfortable and the bedding (especially pillows) and towels were of a very high quality. I will certainly book with this organisation again.

Mrs Oona R,

Great cottage and very homely. Perfect location.
