Reviews

a brilliant position ... good parking ... the youngest member of the party enjoyed the ice and cold water coming from the fridge ... the dogs loved the quick access to the beach ...

Mrs M,

A lovely historic cottage located very close to the beach.

Mr S,

Spacious cottage, ideal location, great views of the beach and glorious Bamburgh castle, loved being so close to the beach.

Mrs E,

Back garden on the beach, views of the sea and a night sky to wonder at. Perfect weekend break.

Dr L,

The property is in a perfect location minutes from the beach which the children really enjoyed.

Mrs J,

This is a lovely house with the most amazing location. We had a great holiday

Mrs K,

The Boathouse location was beautiful! However for 7 people there were 2 bathrooms. 1 was en-suite with a shower, bath and hand held shower. The other shared by the rest of the party (6 adults) had a shower, bath and toilet on the first floor. We felt this was inadequate. As the location was practically on the beach , there was a lot of sand and it would of been useful to have an outside hosepipe at the back of the property to clean away the sand of us all before entering the house. The shower was blocked and we had to use a plunger everyday to unblock the shower. We have pictures to show you if needed. (I am guessing the owner is already aware of this as there is a clear water damage stain on the roof of the living room (under the shower)) The pans/oven trays and other kitchen utensils had to be cleaned before able to be used as they where dirty.

Mr Richard S,

The house is lovely but a few thing let it down, general maintenance really. There has obviously been a major leek from the bathroom through to the lounge ceiling at some point but the large patch on the ceiling has not been cleaned or painted over and has mould spores on it. Also, just a point , the upstairs bathroom does not have an extractor fan or window which seems a bid odd The back door has some of the plastic hanging offf and sticking out. We did attempt to hoover as suggested in your folder but the hoover had a dodgy plug , (only worked if you wiggled the wire) and it was so full it just dumped what we did attempt to hoover up. We didn’t empty it, when your paying the money we paid I don’t want to start emptying hoovers . The outside would be lovely but we had to weed our way out of the patio doors, the path to the garden was over grown with difficulty getting passed , especially for my 4 year old grandson, more weeding to get through only to find the lawn hadn’t been mown, for some time, looking at it and the top patio was also overgrown. It was however a secure garden for the dogs. We did however have good access to the beach ,which was clear. It is a great family house and a lovely setting with great beach access, just a bit tired and needs a some maintenance. We did have a great time and enjoyed our stay and would consider coming back.

Mrs Helen P,

Great porperty, lovely location, all good !

Mr Antony P,

on arrival I discovered there were none of the basic essentials at the property, apart from loo rolls. In spite of your website advising tthere would be starter packs of cleaning materials, sponges, foil, cling film and bin bags etc there was nothing, not even soap in the bathrooms. My email about this went unanswered. After a very long drive I had to go out and find a supermarket

Mrs Flora F,

Separate email sent

Mrs Jo D,

While we had a very lovely holiday, the lack of kitchen equipment (e.g. not enough cutlery, very limited glasses - only two tumblers) wasn't up to expectations. We had to go to the shop to purchase a potato peeler that actually worked. More instructions required - e.g. how to use the heating effectively, how to operate the oven. Also please note that the tumble dryer door doesn't close. The large bedroom downstairs does not heat up well with the two radiators that are in there. This needed extra heating that was provided on request.

Mr Mark S,

We had a great holiday. House was in an amazing location and was as described on the website. Everything we needed was there.

Mrs Georgina A,
