The property is located on the edge of the Northumberland National Park and is ideally located for both walkers and cyclists, with access to the Cheviot Hills direct from the cottage. A selection of traditional restaurants and public houses can be found in the local vicinity and a family-run, licensed restaurant, which prides itself on locally sourced home-cooked food, is only a short walk from the property. For horse riding enthusiasts, the BHS approved Kimmerston Riding Centre in nearby Wooler caters for riders of all ages and abilities. For those wishing to explore further afield, Alnwick and Berwick-upon-Tweed are within 30 minutes drive.
Akeld Cottage is a single level dwelling enjoying prime position to observe the outstanding rural scenery offered by the surrounding countryside. The enclosed garden with patio area and outdoor furniture is the perfect place to relax and take in the breathtaking views.
The pretty living room, equipped with Freeview TV and DVD player, is comfortable and peaceful with a decorative fireplace, convenient dining area and French doors leading out to the garden.
The L-shaped kitchen provides practical using space and is equipped with electric cooker, microwave, toaster, fridge/freezer, washing machine and a selection of other accessories and utensils.
The delightful double bedroom, with large window, has a vanity table, bedside units and reading lamps. The twin room, again with large window, has a vanity table, bedside units and reading lamps. The other twin room has bunk beds and is ideal for children.
